The Funds and Programmes Division (FPD), in its remit as Managing Authority of the Maritime and Fisheries Operational Programme for Malta 2014-2020, is hereby announcing the launch of the third open call for project proposals, aimed at fishing vessel owners for investments in equipment or on board, energy efficiency audits and schemes and studies to assess the contribution of alternative propulsion systems and hull designs.  Interested applicants are urged to read through the Application Form and relative guidance notes. Conditions may apply.

The open call for project proposals falls within Union Priority 1: Promoting environmentally sustainable, resource efficient, innovative, competitive and knowledge based fisheries; Measure I.20, Article 41.1 of Regulation (EU) No. 508/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council: On board investments; energy efficiency audits and schemes and studies.

In line with the EMFF Operational Programme, the measure to be implemented through this open call for proposals should address Specific Objective 5 of Union Priority 1: Provision of support to strengthen technological development and innovation, including increasing energy efficiency, and knowledge transfer.

The total indicative budget for the call is €200,000.00. However, the Managing Authority reserves the right to decrease or increase the indicative allocation.

An Information session for prospective applicants will be held on the 20th July 2018.
A Registration Form to participate in such information session can also be downloaded from below.
Interested parties should submit their request for registration to fpd.meae@gov.mt by not later than 13th July 2018 noon.
Time and venue of the information session will be communicated by the Managing Authority to fishers who have registered for the information session.

Project proposals shall be received by hand and on the appropriate Application Form, at the Funds and Programmes Division, Triq il-Kukkanja Santa Venera, until 11:00 hours of Friday 31st August 2018.
