RESTART VI - ASSISTED VOLUNTARY RETURN AND RE-INTEGRATION IN COUNTRY OF ORIGIN

Migration trends, coupled with challenges that migrants face on their journey and upon arrival, have resulted in relatively high numbers of migrants unable or unwilling to stay in Malta. RESTART VI is a continuation of five Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) projects successfully implemented by IOM Malta in cooperation with the Maltese authorities since 2009.

RESTART VI aims to contribute to the effectiveness of migration management by further supporting the Government of Malta in making the AVRR option available to migrants willing to return to their countries of origin and to re-establish themselves there. Over 3 years, the project will provide up to 170 beneficiaries with individually tailor-made voluntary return and reintegration assistance.

Project activities include outreach among the target group and relevant stakeholders, counselling on the return procedure, obtaining of travel documents, travel arrangements, and reintegration assistance and monitoring.
