Signing of the Programme Agreement - EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021
Malta will be benefitting from €8 Million in EEA and Norwegian Grants under the programming period 2014-2021, aimed towards urban development and poverty reduction. This follows the signing of a programme agreement between Malta’s National Focal Point and the Norwegian Ambassador for Malta in Rome, HE Margit F. Tveiten. EnerNETMob
EnerNETMob aims to draft, test and improve parallel “Sustainable Electromobility Plans” according to common standards and low carbon policies, in order to establish an “Interregional Electromobility Network” across a number of cities of the transnational MED area. CESBA MED
‘CESBA MED Sustainable MED Cities’: Energy efficiency improvement is a key strategy to reduce the environmental impact of public buildings. But usually energy efficiency plans do not fully exploit the potential for synergies that groups of buildings might offer. CESBA MED intends to test 10 different methodologies, tools and indicators developed by previous EU projects and select the most affordable and operational solutions. AQUACYCLE
AquaCycle aims to address the present situation of water scarcity in the southern Mediterranean region, with a mission to change the present model of wastewater reuse, and of imposing an eco-innovative technology (including anaerobic digestion, constructed wetland, solar treatment). This technology has a low cost of operation and maintenance as it uses less chemicals, runs on renewable energy, produces biogas and fertiliser, and the constructed wetland will thrive as an ecological tourist attraction, aside from being a climate-change mitigation measure.…

NAWAMED
In Mediterranean countries, domestic water use accounts for a minor part of water consumption, however, it requires the best quality and its demand is continuously growing. Moreover, urban water is still the main cause of pollution of rivers and groundwater, even when treated before being discharged.
